Reviewed in GAMES!

A review of Legacy will appear in the upcoming November 2012 issue of GAMES magazine!

This is huge for me; I grew up reading GAMES!  Every issue is loaded with number and word puzzles, and always some nicely crafted feature puzzles.  Then near the back there is a section for game reviews.  If you've never read the magazine, give it a try for the next time you travel.

Legacy @ Kongregate

I just posted the Flash version of Legacy over at Kongregate.

If you've never visited its a free site that collects Flash games to play and they do a pretty good job making sure really fun games bubble up to the top.

Some of the good stuff I've come across over there:

Enough Plumbers is a crazy Mario style game except every time you grab a coin your Mario dude gets cloned!  The trick is you control all of them at once and it gets so wacky, but very fun and once you get the hang of it you'll see there is a lot of subtlty, too!

Upgrade Complete is another game that takes a familiar game concept and twists it in a simple way to make something fresh.  You are playing a scrolling shoot-em-up with terrible graphics and gameplay... and the objective of the game is to get upgrades that upgrade the game!  So the graphics and enemies and weapons and everything gets better as you play it.

And there are a whole bunch of good puzzle games!

Play Legacy online!

The online version of Legacy is up now!

Before you start a new game, a dialogue will ask you which game number you want to play.  The game number is a random shuffle: if you choose the same game number you will draw the cards in the exact same order.

If you want to just play by yourself, leave the game number blank and you will get a random game number.

If you want to compare with a friend, decide on a game number together.  If you both play game number 123 for example, you will get the same numbers in the same order, and then you can directly compare your scores to see who made the highest scoring legacy!

First Implementation!

I received the first print-on-demand copy of Legacy from The Game Crafter!

Legacy comes in a folded box with the cards and a one-page rulebook.

And here is the very first game played with the first implementation.

I already have some changes to make before I make it publicly available through The Game Crafter, but I'm very pleased with the quality of this first implementation!
